Testimonials from past clients:
"Feedback-wise, I could sing your praises all day! I have told everyone about how much I enjoyed working with you and how you were the best therapist. I absolutely loved our time together in therapy … I've seen two other therapists in my life, and they were fine, but your approach was by far the most effective for me (and really showed me what the bar is, and what I should expect to get out of therapy): I learned actionable tools that I still am able to return to, and have a framework that made sense to me and served me well even on a philosophical level. I just loved how you were a mix of compassionate and empathetic, but also able to give active feedback and ideas to help me make progress.
In terms of what's tangible: I haven't had a panic attack since…Of course, life isn't perfect, and I will always have things I'm working on …. but I feel like I could turn back to our tools if I ever find myself feeling that degree of anxiety again. I know the tangible results are probably the best markers, but I still think the intangible way I felt and how I look back on our time together is the measure of success."
"Very compassionate and makes you feel heard. Actually engages in the therapy." |
"Brian was great to talk with; good listener and, understanding, reflective. When I'm ready I'll to pursue therapy again I'll seek him out." |
"My experience working with you was a big area of growth for me, given that, beforehand I had been adamant about having a female therapist. I was able to challenge that and found that having you as a therapist really helped me change my perspective on so many different things, most especially the self-limiting beliefs I had about myself. What I really appreciated was your willingness to send resources, articles, book recs, etc., that I still refer to and use on the daily.… I find that I still have so much growth to do, and I still have struggles and ups and downs, but what is different now is that I feel equipped with the tools to handle any situation that comes my way. While the pandemic was difficult (for everyone), I believe I’ve done a decent job of prioritizing my self-care and coming out the other side with a sense of gratitude…. Thank you for the work you do and for always being so kind and understanding. Therapy has given me the opportunity to get in touch with myself and has helped me discover so many good things about myself and others. It’s made me more compassionate for myself and others as well."
"I am happy to say that my experience in therapy has had a very meaningful and lasting impact even after such a short period of treatment, and your recommendations were a huge help in enriching and re-upping some of those strategies in the year that followed. There was one moment from one of our earlier sessions that has really stuck with me [redacted for privacy]…That was a truly life-changing reframe and I honestly think about it at least once a week."
"I can honestly say that working with you has totally transformed my relationship to myself and others. Before starting therapy with you, I had heard of mindfulness and ACT but didn't truly understand how to implement those practices into my day to day life, especially when encountering uncomfy feelings. When you suggested [new techniques] life got waaaaay lighter! I'm no longer on a ball and chain to my emotions, fearing them and pushing them away. Every day brings new feelings, but now I face them with compassion and curiosity rather than dread.
One of the coolest fruits from this practice is that I'm able to sort of "forget myself" and just be more present and engaged with friends, family, and work. I've noticed a drastic decrease in self-consciousness since practicing ACT and mindfulness.
I remember one of our goals was to help me pinpoint and vocalize my needs. This is still an ongoing journey for me hahaha! So I may have to work with you on that sometime. But before therapy with you, I was pretty much ignoring my needs. I'm now at a phase where I notice my needs, allow them to show up, and treat them with kindness.
More than anything, I'd like to thank you for giving me space to be myself and listening to me with attention and care. I really can’t express enough how grateful I am for the help and guidance through that time. I will carry the lessons learned from my time with you for the rest of my life! Woohoo!"
